Recruitment Standards

We hire based on the following criteria:

 

  1. Prospective candidates for First Response, Security Protective Services guards must have at least two years of security or security-related experience.

  2. Conduct security patrols successfully without direct supervision.

  3. Remain calm and perform effectively in emergencies.

  4. Write comprehensive reports and maintain accurate records while utilizing effective communication skills.

  5. Detect problems and report information to the appropriate personnel.

  6. Possess basic knowledge of security procedures, handling violent behaviours, and non-defensive communication.

  7. Follow and enforce safety codes, regulations, and procedures.

  8. Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a customer service orientation.

  9. Handle private and confidential information with a high degree of discretion.

  10. Maintain a professional image when interacting with the public and adhere to our Code of Ethics in job duties.
